Consultation
Before you go ahead with the surgery, Dr. Firmalino will initially evaluate your suitability for Cleft chin creation. If you are qualified, he will discuss to you in detail the procedure including its likely outcomes, risks and complications, the type of anaesthesia he will use. He will also give you instructions on how to prepare for your surgery, among others.

Procedure
Done in our clinic on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia, usually takes 45 minutes or less to finish. After the operation, the surgeon will put a bandage on the operated area. You will go back to the clinic after 3 days for its removal.

Post Surgery
You may or may not experience slight discomfort for a few hours after the anesthesia wears off. You can go back to work the next day following your surgery but you should avoid physical activities such as exercise or contact sports that can injure your face.  Healing period is 7 to 10 days.

Post Surgery Recovery
After a few weeks, you will notice that the operated area is already taking shape; the cleft chin is becoming more apparent and feels natural like you are born with it. Healing period is within 7 to 10 days. Final results can be seen after a month.

Possible risks and complications
This surgical procedure doesn’t require extensive incision so you can expect reduced risk of complication and infection, as well as less pain and discomfort.
